Ironic Twist seeking irony, because sarcasm clashes with my outfit

I finally have a little bit of time to catch up on music news, and there's some cool stuff going on. Like, Shout Out Louds have a remix EP out, and are going into a Stockholm studio in the fall to work on their new album. Listen to the EP, called Combines, here.

More from Sweden: Jenny Wilson and Robyn team up to cover Saul Williams' "List of Demands." A must-see. Thanks for finding it, Brian.

New Portishead song from the upcoming album:

Portishead - "Key Bored 299 03" (MP3)

This weekend: relaxation and Bliss. That's it. Hopefully.

Next week, three shows in a row. Monday: Echo & The Bunnymen with Boy Kill Boy at the Black Cat. Tuesday: We Are Scientists at the Black Cat. Wednesday: The Futureheads at the 9:30 Club.

P.S. If anyone is wondering, the bachelorette party took place last weekend. It was fairly tame, but nice. Dinner at Palette followed by drinks at Poste, Zola, Indebleu and Russia House. We outlasted the bachelor party, which was going on concurrently. Thanks to everyone who made recommendations! The wedding is now less than two weeks away.

Takk (that's thank you in Icelandic) again to everyone who came to Hej Hej on Tuesday night. And, as Jeff pointed out in the comments, thank you to those of you who came last Tuesday by mistake. What you lack in attention to detail, you make up in enthusiasm. The voice mail I got around 10:30 pm last Tuesday: "We brought 20 people here and there's no Swedish pop!"

It was an absolutely great night with a fantastic turnout, requests for actual Scandinavian music (only one person demanded Pulp), questions and compliments on songs we played, and a surprising amount of dancing for a Tuesday night. John, sorry I forgot about Junior Senior.

The evening was also educational, as we learned that Ms. WeirdCurves looks like a youthful version of the president of Latvia. She was told so by a Latvian.

By popular demand, a combined setlist (which might be missing a few songs, and is not really in any sort of order, but hey, at least there are lots of MP3s to download):

Tack (that's thank you in Swedish) to everyone who came to Saint Ex last night for Hej Hej. Lots and lots of you came, and it was great to see you all, since I've been such an overworked recluse lately and haven't been going out as much. I've posted photos, as have a few other people. If you took pictures last night and are uploading them to Flickr, please tag them with "hejhej" so that we can all check them out.

This one of my brother and his friend is probably my favorite:

Leah and Dmitry

We're working on some semblance of a setlist. Sit tight.

Update: WeirdCurves posted her photos.
